I have been lucky enough to have one or the other of the featured guitarists, Nick or Sav playing and recording with my band since 1996. They had been playing together for 10 years prior to that. It is rare to find musicians of this calibre and even rarer to find two that have so much experience playing together. This is what led me to ask them both to join for a recording project in 2010, giving the band a triple threat guitar attack or the classic two guitars and harmonica line up.

As a songwriter this kind of versatility is dreamed about. Not only are they great players in their own right but ultimately play what is required for the song without ego compromising their dual contributions. In my mind this has the effect of one big guitar! Small band orchestration on the fly, in the vein of the classic Chicago ensembles of Muddy Waters, Sonny Boy Williamson, Howlin' Wolf et al. Add to that the syncopation sensibilities of New Orleans artists such as The Meters, Dr. John, Earl King and Snooks Eaglin. Could be a recipe for disaster with less gracious musicians.
